In the week of my life, I just finished watching Shanksaw Redemption in my Intro to Film Studies class. Overall the movie was good and I have been told that it’s one of my Professor’s favorite movies of all time. Hope, more than anything else, was the driving for of the movie. The inmates at Shawshank give them the will to live. Andy's sheer determination to maintain his sense of self-worth and escape keeps him from dying of frustration and anger in solitary confinement. Ultimately, the film is a story of redemption and the journey toward freedom. Through perseverance, resilience, and unwavering faith, Andy and Red embark on a journey of self-discovery and redemption that culminates in their liberation from Shawshank. I had to write a four hundred worded miniature essay that featured questions like, “Many audience members have a hard time determining who was telling the story and why. The story is narrated by Red in a voice-over, but why him? If Andy had told his own story in the...

In this week's update on my life, the football team and I are all just getting back off of our bye week before we had to play our rival Tabor College which is also our first conference game. We ended up losing to Tabor College because they scored a diving touchdown catch with thirty seconds left in the game. Everyone left that game quiet because that was supposed to be the game that ignited our team and improved the spirit of the team. After all, we haven’t won a game and we have been in a lot of very close games where we just needed to finish but, we didn’t get the job done and we have to start preparing for our next game vs Ottawa University. Outside of sports, I had another photoshoot and I honestly believe I am getting better at my craft by getting the right angles, getting the right lighting, and having the best quality of the picture. I have decided on a minor which will be Physcology. I always had an interest in how the brain works and why everyone does certain things a ce...

It was at least seven hundred and fifty words and I wrote a little over nine-hundred words. I ended up getting a B on the a passed my midterm for that class.   This week in my life has been getting back to normal week. I say this because it’s the first week back from all homecoming shenanigans. In my Oral Interpretation class, we finally moved on to a topic I enjoy which is poetry. Poetry has a way of relaxing and calming the soul Many musical artists I listen to refer to themselves as poets rather than rappers/artists. In my Intro To Film class, we’re watching La La Land which I am happy about because I have been recommended to La La Land by multiple people for a good movie to watch, and after watching it, I don’t know how to feel because on one hand it is a beautiful film through and through, from the singing and dancing to the plot and resolution, but the ending is what makes me shaky about this film because if I put myself in his shoes, I think I would’ve to Paris with her or every couple months come to see her because they were destined soulmates and you can even see it at the end of the film when the look at each other for the fin...
