In the week of my life, I just finished watching Shanksaw Redemption in my Intro to Film Studies class. Overall the movie was good and I have been told that it’s one of my Professor’s favorite movies of all time. Hope, more than anything else, was the driving for of the movie. The inmates at Shawshank give them the will to live. Andy's sheer determination to maintain his sense of self-worth and escape keeps him from dying of frustration and anger in solitary confinement. Ultimately, the film is a story of redemption and the journey toward freedom. Through perseverance, resilience, and unwavering faith, Andy and Red embark on a journey of self-discovery and redemption that culminates in their liberation from Shawshank.
