This week in my life is very interesting. I say this because it’s homecoming week in Sterling. I didn’t know what homecoming was like here, but to sum it up it’s more like a high school homecoming week, to say the least. In high school, I didn’t participate in homecoming festivities. Honestly, I didn’t participate this week either that much because of the amount of work I have been turning in and the studying I have been doing because midterms are coming and I want to be prepared. The only theme I remember was the cowboy day because someone walked into my Oral Interpretation class with a pair of boots that were to their knees and a cowboy hat that was about the size of their whole head. Since it was Homecoming week, the practices were aimed a little more on the serious side compared to how fast-paced our practices are because we were playing the number sixteenth teen in all of NAIA, the Southwestern College Moundbuilders. We ended up losing that game which really stucked especial...

In this week's blog post, this week was a little more tough for me. Starting the week was supposed to be with weight at six in the morning, but due to the JV game that day, we got the morning off. With the morning off I went to the cafe and ate a light breakfast before going to my eight am class where we read and told stories. To be specific, children’s books. After was my Intro to Theatre class where we were going through a review for an assignment on Friday. Once that class was over, I went and got a quick bite at the cafe and then went to my Mass Journalism class followed by my Mass Communications class. After classes were done, we had three pm meetings discussing the game plan for Bethany. Once meetings were done, we got a little time to ourselves before we all headed to watch our JV Warriors take on Bethany and ended up losing. Tuesday was a refreshing day because I only had film at six o’clock in the morning with defense as we prepared for our next game versus Bethany at th...

This week during my life, I told a story in my Oral Interpretation class about when I had to play NBA star Zion Williamson in AAU during highschool. I enjoyed chapel on Wednesday, the guest speaker really spoke a lot of truth and I felt that on a personal level. The game was a tough one and we ended up losing by 24 points despite only being down 3 points at half. This week overall wasn't a bad week. -Jayden Jones

Since coming to Sterling my experience has been good. I have adjusted to my classes pretty nicely and found my group of friends. I also found a good balance between my student life and athlete life. For the most part, I have been in a laid-back state and I have been caught on my work for all my classes. Overall I have nothing to complain about.
