Thanksgiving is over and it is almost Christmas. It's the last week before finals and it has been one of the most stressful weeks I have ever had as a college student. Find out what days we have a final on to make up work that was due in late November. This week has taken a toll on my mental health because of how little time I had to think for myself. I also got sick this week and had to miss some of my classes. From what I heard, I haven’t missed a lot in most of my classes because I am caught up with little to no work to make up. I maxed out this week in the weight room during football workouts. And I had one of the top vertical jumps on the spring football team. I did my final for Foundations and Servant Leadership on Tuesday and honestly, it was one the easiest finals I ever took in my life. The final was a handwritten paper about all the things I have learned in that class in that close alone and how I will apply that to my life. That class alone taught me how to be confident...

This week my life in my, Intro to Film class, we finished watching “Straight Outta Compton” and we were told to compare it to the movie we watched last week “It’s a wonderful life.  The football team played the last game of the season where we faced off against the number one team in the conference opponent, The Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes.  We lost this game with the final score of twenty-three to three. This was a very important day as it was our senior's last game. In, Intro to Theatre, I wrote a play for my final project, and my group and I will have to prepare to act it out on the last day of the semester. In, Oral Interpretation, I have a four-minute play I have to act out, I am not too worried because my partner, Aubrie, is amazing and all we have to do now is remember our lines. I also just found out that my final in Oral Interpretation will be a one-person play that is no more the five minutes where I will have to memorize a whole script. This will help me work on ...

This week, my Intro to Film class started watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” because that movie helps with our discussion of ideology. We are comparing this to the movie Straight Outta Compton, which we will start watching on Wednesday.  The football team faced a conference opponent, The Avila Eagles, and we lost with the final score twenty to seven. This was a very important game and now instead of playing for a conference championship, we have our last game/ senior day next week versus Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes. I went to the Moon Over Buffalo play on Saturday and honestly, it was good. The play was a mix of drama and comedy with all the characters playing their role to perfection. In Intro To Theatre, we have been assigned our groups for our final production and we will feature Shakespeare in our play and I was voted for the scriptwriter role which I will start on Monday. Any role would’ve been perfect for me as I have studied Shakespeare a lot through my years and...

In this week in my life, The football team has finally found our groove in a close game with Saint Marys University and we won that game with a blocked field goal. That win now improves our odds of winning the conference this year because of our record in the conference. Our season has turned around for the better and honestly, I am excited for what comes next with this program. I got to talk to the people in the register office and I actually got to start my minor next semester my minor is gonna be Psychology which was gonna be my major if I hadn’t chosen Communications first. I’ve gotten better with my photography and my modeling has gotten better too. I say this because I am taking the lessons I learned in my Intro To Film class about how angles and lighting affect the way a picture is conceived by its audience or the person who takes the picture. Halloween was this weekend and I of course went to a couple of parties like some of my peers on campus, plus I also am trying to be...

In the week of my life, I just finished watching Shanksaw Redemption in my Intro to Film Studies class. Overall the movie was good and I have been told that it’s one of my Professor’s favorite movies of all time. Hope, more than anything else, was the driving for of the movie. The inmates at Shawshank give them the will to live. Andy's sheer determination to maintain his sense of self-worth and escape keeps him from dying of frustration and anger in solitary confinement. Ultimately, the film is a story of redemption and the journey toward freedom. Through perseverance, resilience, and unwavering faith, Andy and Red embark on a journey of self-discovery and redemption that culminates in their liberation from Shawshank. I had to write a four hundred worded miniature essay that featured questions like, “Many audience members have a hard time determining who was telling the story and why. The story is narrated by Red in a voice-over, but why him? If Andy had told his own story in the...

In this week's update on my life, the football team and I are all just getting back off of our bye week before we had to play our rival Tabor College which is also our first conference game. We ended up losing to Tabor College because they scored a diving touchdown catch with thirty seconds left in the game. Everyone left that game quiet because that was supposed to be the game that ignited our team and improved the spirit of the team. After all, we haven’t won a game and we have been in a lot of very close games where we just needed to finish but, we didn’t get the job done and we have to start preparing for our next game vs Ottawa University. Outside of sports, I had another photoshoot and I honestly believe I am getting better at my craft by getting the right angles, getting the right lighting, and having the best quality of the picture. I have decided on a minor which will be Physcology. I always had an interest in how the brain works and why everyone does certain things a ce...

In this week in my life, I took my midterm in my Communication Studies class. The paper was opinionated on what we as his students think communication is. The featured questions were, How does communication shape society and the interactions between societal actors,  daily life with communication, how do those messages affect society, Why is studying and understanding communication important, why should such a course of study be included in a program of study, how can a student prepare to enter the workforce in this field, and how can a person develop a professional network that can be leveraged for career advancement. It was at least seven hundred and fifty words and I wrote a little over nine-hundred words. I ended up getting a B on the a passed my midterm for that class. In Oral Interpretaion, We went over poetry and I started writing my poem early because I have to present this poem in class in front of all my peers with the time limit being at least three minutes long. So far ...
