In this week in my life, The football team has finally found our groove in a close game with Saint Marys University and we won that game with a blocked field goal. That win now improves our odds of winning the conference this year because of our record in the conference. Our season has turned around for the better and honestly, I am excited for what comes next with this program. I got to talk to the people in the register office and I actually got to start my minor next semester my minor is gonna be Psychology which was gonna be my major if I hadn’t chosen Communications first. I’ve gotten better with my photography and my modeling has gotten better too. I say this because I am taking the lessons I learned in my Intro To Film class about how angles and lighting affect the way a picture is conceived by its audience or the person who takes the picture. Halloween was this weekend and I of course went to a couple of parties like some of my peers on campus, plus I also am trying to be more extroverted because I am usually Introverted on a day-to-day basis. Speaking of Intro To Film, we started watching the Barbie movie and it was not a bad movie. Before watching the movie, I thought it was gonna be a super girly and childish movie, then after watching it, I realized why it did so well in theatres and why a lot of people went to watch it more than once. It revels in the themes of body love and self-acceptance bumping up against society's unrealistic expectations for women. It really highlighted how the normative societal patriarchy can negatively impact both women and men. The way it forms a spiritual connection between women of different generations, passing down their hopes and dreams for a better world for those who come after them. By taking Ruth's (the creator of Barbie's) hand, Barbie becomes another link in this infinite chain of mothers and children, and how in the end she becomes human. What really threw me off was the appointment Barbie had at the very end of the movie.
